Men who feel strong in the justice of their cause, or confident in their powers, do not waste breath in childish boasts of their own superiority and querulous depreciation of their antagonists.

The Esoterrorists

Sometimes our distributor lists stuff in the preorder sheet with no picture and very little in the way of a description. Sometimes I pass on that stuff, but this one had an interesting name, so I snagged a single copy.

It came in a couple days ago, and it looks kinda interesting. Those of you who like Robin Laws (old school) might like it even more, since he wrote it. Whether you are (or aren't) familiar with him, you can always check out his blog.

So, back to the game. Basically... you are elite investigators combating the plots of the Esoterrorists, a loose affiliation of occult terrorists intent on tearing the fabric of the world. The Esoterrorists introduces the GUMSHOE rules system, which revolutionizes investigative scenarios by ensuring that players are never deprived of the crucial clues they need to move the story forward. (quote ripped from here)

While I'm not sure the world needs YAGS (yet another game system) the website does offer this enticing bit of info: This website will be expanded to include other new projects using the GUMSHOE system, including GUMSHOE Horror and a new version of Call of Cthulhu by Kenneth Hite called Trail of Cthulhu.

Could be interesting.
